The Jurors Public Art Work at Runnymede
Celebrating 800 years of the influence of Magna Carta

This artwork was commissioned by Surrey County Council to mark the 800th anniversary of sealing the Great Charter. The artist & sculptor Hew Locke created 12 bronze chairs for this public art work decorated with imagery and symbols of current and past struggles for the rule of law, equal rights and freedom. The artwork was inaugurated by HRH Prince William during the Magna Carta 800th Anniversary celebrations on 15th June 2015. It was cast at Meltdowns Foundry and assembled by Situations art organsisation.
