Just outside the Military Cemetery lie 14 members of the Turkish Air Force killed during WW2
On 18 March 2008 a party including the Turkish Ambassador and Interior Minister held a service of remembrance here commemorating the Turkish airmen who died in WW2 and members of the Turkish Army killed in the modern Iraq conflict.
